The pieces made by Ideal & Co are created with the best Portuguese leathers. These leathers are tanned with vegetable tannins, obtained from tree bark, such as Mimosa, and are dyed with natural colourings. In this tanning process none of the chemicals based on Chromium salts are used. Vegetable-tanned leathers usually display a patine which not only conveys a distinct character and beauty to each piece, but the more they are used and exposed to natural elements, like the sun, the greater their beauty gets.

As peças em pele da Ideal & Co são confeccionadas usando os melhores couros portugueses. Estes são curtidos com taninos vegetais a partir da casca de árvores como a Mimosa, sendo tingidos com corantes naturais. No processo de curtume não são utilizados produtos químicos à base de sais de crómio. A pele de curtimenta vegetal desenvolve uma patine que dá carácter e uma beleza especial a cada peça, e quanto mais a peça é usada e exposta aos elementos naturais, como o sol mais bela fica.
